Today, Azerbaijan celebrates the 34th anniversary of its restoration of state independence. On August 30, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Republic adopted the Declaration on the Restoration of Independence, and on October 18 of the same year, the Constitutional Act enshrining this status was adopted.

Residents of Gergebyl village in Dagestan Magomed Magomedov and Amir Mahmudov suffered from the actions of the police. In mid-July, they stopped the first man's car in search of drugs. After a verbal altercation, one of the employees hit Magomedov.
According to the "Team Against Torture", a fellow villager of the victim, Amir Mahmudov, witnessed what was happening and decided to stand up for him. He took out his phone to film the beating on camera, but the police knocked him to the ground and beat him.
Both were taken to the police station. "It hurt me a lot, I was shaking, my heart was pounding hard. The policeman grabbed me by the beard with his right hand and pulled out a lock of hair. I asked them to stop the chaos, to which the policeman said: "You haven't seen chaos yet." Now I'll show you my ego," Makhmudov said.
Magomedov received a fine, and Mahmudov - five days of arrest on the charge of disobeying the police. The men reported the crime to the Gunybinsk Interdistrict Investigation Department. Now there is an inspection.
