In Crimea, police officers issued human rights activist Abdureshit Dzhepparov a warning against violating the law. Law enforcement officials explained the document's origins in connection with the upcoming holiday on May 9th, but such actions typically occur shortly before the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Deportation of the Crimean Tatar People (May 18th).
A 14-year-old schoolboy, an 8th grade student, was detained for setting fire to a relay cabinet at the Buinaksk station in Dagestan. During interrogation, the teenager confessed to the crime and said that no one forced him to start the arson and no one paid for it.
According to the student, he simply wanted to pick up scrap ferrous and non-ferrous metals from a burnt cabinet. Investigators are now deciding whether to initiate a criminal case.
A relay cabinet is a prefabricated welded structure, the main element of a train automation system in railway transport. Previously, they were set on fire in a number of regions of the Russian Federation.
According to Russian security officials, the attackers acted on instructions from the Ukrainian special services.
