During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
A court in Dagestan reduced the term of forced labor for a resident of Khasavyurt, Shakhban Abakargadzhiev, from five to three years in the case of military "fakes". In May, the Khasavyurt District Court of Dagestan sentenced the man to five years of forced labor.
The reason for the criminal prosecution of Abakargadzhiev was his post on Instagram, in which he sharply condemned the crimes committed in the Ukrainian Bucha by Russian soldiers. In court, Abakargadzhiev admitted his guilt and explained that he copied this text from another resource and published it in a fit of anger after his dead nephew was brought from Ukraine.
Earlier, the human rights project "Support for political prisoners. Memorial" recognized Shakhban Abakargadzhiev as a political prisoner.
