In Dagestan, they began to remove dead seals from the coast
The authorities of Dagestan began to remove dead seals from the coast of the Caspian Sea. Animals will be buried at a specialized landfill.

Recently, it was reported that in the area from Makhachkala to the mouth of the Terek River, many carcasses of seals were found, most of which were thrown onto the coastal strip.

In December, specialists of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Dagestan also found a large number of dead seals on the coast of the Caspian Sea. Experts stated that one of the probable causes of the death of animals could be underwater earthquakes and gas emissions on the way of their migration. Previously, cases of their mass death were noted not only on the Caspian coast in the water area of Dagestan, but also in Kalmykia and Kazakhstan. In 2023, dead Caspian seals were found in the Lenin district of Makhachkala. Eight Red Book animals were lying on the territory of the "Oasis" beach.
