In Dagestan, Umaraskhab Alibekov, a father of many children, was found guilty of failing to report a planned terrorist attack that killed 22 people. The charge is based on the fact that he knew about the planned attacks on Makhachkala and Derbent but failed to notify authorities.
Raids on conscripts continue in Makhachkala. The police are catching young people on the street, forcibly throwing them into a car and taking them to the military registration and enlistment office. This was reported by the human rights project "Go to the Forest", which helps to avoid being drafted into the war.
According to them, the detentions are carried out with gross violations of the law - without presenting documents or explaining the reasons.
"Go to the Forest" wrote about a similar situation in early May: students with a valid deferment were grabbed on the street and taken to the military registration and enlistment office, where they were served summonses with violations. At that time, among those detained was a fourth-year student of the Dagestan University of National Economy - he had a deferment until September 2026, but it was ignored, citing "the loss of the registration certificate".
