In Dagestan, instead of a pre -trial detention center, two defendants in the murder of police were placed under house arrest

The Supreme Court of Dagestan sent two operatives of the police department in the Soviet district of Makhachkala in the case of torture by a local resident Kurban Dalgatov, who died in the police department. At the same time, the investigation petitioned for the imprisonment of the security forces in custody.

According to the case file, Karimov M.A. and Magomedpashaev M.M. Inaction is imputed to suppress the illegal actions of their colleagues. When choosing a preventive measure, the court took into account that one of them is a participant in the hostilities, and the second is dependent with disabled parents. In total, nine police officers are already under the investigation in this case.

In January 2023, it became known that 35-year-old Kurban Dalgatov died in OP in the Soviet district of Makhachkala from strangulation. Doctors recorded bodily injuries.

According to investigators, the police detained Dalgatov, as they believed that he helped to hide to a friend suspected of shooting at a person. Having delivered a man to the police department, the security forces from “the desire to show the effectiveness of their work” began to demand from him to indicate the whereabouts of a friend. As a result of torture, the detainee died.
