The Georgian Parliament has expeditiously passed a bill in its third and final reading requiring organizers of protests in "places where people gather or where vehicles are moving" (including on sidewalks) to notify the police. The responsible person must contact the Patrol Service Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (located at the location of the demonstration) in writing no later than five days before the rally.
In Dagestan, a driver ran over a policeman and was killed
The night before, on Makhachkalynskaya Street in Derbent, the driver of the car ignored the demands of the traffic police to stop. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he ran over a police officer and shot several times.
The police killed the 21-year-old driver with retaliatory fire. A pistol was found in his car.
The injured policeman was taken to a medical facility with injuries of varying degrees of severity. There is currently no threat to his life.
