Mass protests took place in Georgia and Armenia over the death of Alexei Navalny

Last night, demonstrations took place in Yerevan and Tbilisi over the death of opposition politician Alexei Navalny in a Russian colony. About 200 people gathered in front of the Russian Embassy in Yerevan, and more than a thousand in Tbilisi and Batumi.

The demonstrators voiced slogans: “Putin is a murderer,” “Russia will be free,” “Peace for Ukraine, freedom for Russia.” Some posters featured photographs of Russian President Putin demanding that those responsible be brought to justice.

On February 16, 47-year-old Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny died in correctional colony No. 3 in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. After the walk, he reportedly felt unwell, lost consciousness, and suffered a blood clot. During his imprisonment, the oppositionist was sent to a punishment cell 27 times.
