Russia does not intend to comply with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling requiring Georgian citizens to pay over 250 million euros, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated. When asked about the possibility of improving Russian-Georgian relations if the payment were made, Peskov noted that the Kremlin views this issue as a separate matter.

The Constitutional Court of Georgia found that President Salome Zurabishvili violated the law when traveling abroad. Now she faces impeachment at the initiative of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
The court found that the president's trips abroad on August 31, September 1 and 6, 2023 took place without the permission of parliament. In doing so, she violated the Constitution.
Parliament must put the question of impeachment to a vote. Salome Zurabishvili will be considered removed from office if 100 out of 150 deputies vote for this decision.
The opposition announced that it does not support the decision of the Constitutional Court. The United National Movement faction is going to boycott the meetings. Zurabishvili herself announced her disagreement with the impeachment process and accused the chairman of the Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, of settling political scores.
Let us remember that the president in Georgia has limited powers and actively supports Ukraine, the anti-Russian position and integration into the European Union. At the same time, Georgian Dream and the government are neutral towards Moscow, and also accuse Kyiv and the West of putting pressure on Tbilisi.
