Russia does not intend to comply with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling requiring Georgian citizens to pay over 250 million euros, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated. When asked about the possibility of improving Russian-Georgian relations if the payment were made, Peskov noted that the Kremlin views this issue as a separate matter.

Over the past two years, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has asked the government to approve 38 trips abroad. The chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, spoke about this at a meeting in the Constitutional Court on the issue of impeachment of the president.
“She asked permission to visit Brussels, Germany and France in April last year. In June, the issue of the candidate's status was resolved. Although the request for her visits was granted, they were unsuccessful, and we did not receive Georgia’s candidate status for the European Union. No one asked for an answer from her, because she is not responsible for the implementation of foreign policy,” Kobakhidze said.
The ruling Georgian Dream party said that Salome Zurabishvili grossly violated the Constitution of Georgia by launching a series of visits to foreign countries without the consent of the government. To impeach a president, the consent of 100 deputies is required. The parliamentary majority includes 84 deputies, and the parliamentary opposition - 56.
