Rallies against the law on foreign agents again in Georgia

A demonstration against the adoption of the bill on foreign agents is taking place outside the parliament building in Tbilisi. Participants unfurled the EU flag. The protesters are chanting the slogans “No to the Russian law”, “No to the Russian dream”.

Today the parliament is discussing a bill on foreign agents. In this regard, a special security regime has been introduced.

“The fight for Georgia’s European future continues. Don't stay at home, go outside. “Russian law” applies to all citizens of Georgia! “Russian law” is a big wall between Georgia and Europe! Yes - Europe! No to Russian law!” the organizers of the action call. The parliamentary opposition demands the withdrawal of the “law on foreign agents.”

Georgian winemakers also issued a joint statement against the bill and called on the government to resign: “It is clear that every day this government is in power poses a huge threat to our country. They have lost all moral rights to be called the government of Georgia.”
