Six Ukrainians who were previously denied entry were allowed into Georgia

Six citizens of Ukraine, after a week and a half of waiting in the buffer zone at the Upper Lars checkpoint, were allowed to cross the Georgian border late in the evening of August 27. This is reported by "Caucasian Knot". Previously, they were denied entry to the territory of Georgia.

Recall that last fall, Russia forcibly removed convicts from Kherson, who were then placed in Russian colonies. Prisoners whose term ended later were sent to temporary detention centers for foreigners. Among them were five Ukrainians who were not allowed into Georgia on the night of August 17. Another citizen of Ukraine entered Russia on his own, but was also placed in a filtration camp.

All six were threatened with returning to the territory controlled by the Russian authorities, which they flatly refused. All this time, the men slept on mattresses in the Georgian terminal and ate what the volunteers brought.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry said that the decision to let the Ukrainians in was justified by the deteriorating health of one of them.
