The Gudermes City Court brought local resident Naib Manaev to administrative responsibility for distributing the songs of the Chechen bard Timur Mutsuraev. He made publicly available the composition “12 Thousand Mujahideen,” which the court had previously considered extremist material.
Manaev was given the mildest punishment under the article - a fine of 1 thousand rubles.
The composition was discovered on the social network Vkontakte by officers of the FSB Directorate for Chechnya.
Timur Mutsuraev has become popular since the first Russian-Chechen war. Initially, he sang songs in Russian about war, brotherhood, duty and fallen comrades. Later the topic expanded: texts of a religious nature were added. About 30 of the bard’s more than 100 compositions appear on the list of “extremist” songs.
