Three teenagers accused of terrorism in Ingushetia

Three minors have been detained in Ingushetia, accused of planning an attack on a church in Sunzha. This was reported by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the region.

According to the investigation, in August 2024, the teenagers were recruited by an unknown person who was a member of a terrorist group.

“In preparation for committing sabotage and terrorist acts, members of the said organized group illegally acquired and stored automatic firearms, ammunition for them, and explosive devices in a cache on the outskirts of the Sunzhensky District of the republic,” the report says.

Criminal cases have been initiated under five articles of the Criminal Code at once: “Acquisition, storage and transportation of firearms and ammunition for them” (Part 4 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), “Illegal acquisition and transportation of explosive devices” (Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), “Incitement of a person to join a terrorist organization for the purpose of committing terrorist crimes” (Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), “Assistance to terrorist activity” (Part 4 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and “Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization” (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
