In the KBR, another military man was convicted of failure to appear for duty

Asker Tokbaev received one year in a general regime colony. The serviceman was sentenced by a court in Nalchik under Art. 337 of the Criminal Code on unauthorized abandonment of a unit during the period of mobilization.

According to the investigation, in June 2023, Tokbaev did not appear at the military commissariat in Nalchik without good reason. The man admitted guilt and said that he was absent after his vacation due to an administrative arrest for driving someone else’s car. Then he again ignored the appearance at the military registration and enlistment office and later voluntarily arrived at the military prosecutor's office of the garrison.

The court recognized that Asker Tokbaev evaded military service and imposed a sentence of real imprisonment for a period of one year in a general regime correctional colony.
