In the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, a member of the "SVO" was sentenced to 5 years for leaving the unit
The Nalchik Garrison Military Court found 28-year-old Junior Sergeant Islam Bitsuyev guilty of evading military service. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison. He had previously participated in the "SVO".

The case materials indicate that Bitsuyev signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense in May 2023. In April of this year, he voluntarily left the unit's deployment point in the Kherson region and went home. In June, he contacted the administration of the Cherek district, declaring himself as "a serviceman evading military service, but not wanting to evade it altogether."

When sentencing, it was taken into account that Bitsuyev took part in a "special operation" from August 2023 to April 2024. The court considered the admission of guilt, explanation of the motives for the act and sincere repentance, as well as the fact that the man had young children, to be mitigating circumstances.
