Four residents of Karachay-Cherkessia were fined for storing Islamic books after searches
A collection of prayers called “The Fortress of a Muslim” was found in the homes of two residents of Karachay-Cherkessia as a result of searches. In Russia, it is included in the list of extremist materials.
 
In court, Rashid Totarkulov and Shamil Ustarbekov were fined 2 and 1 thousand rubles, respectively. Both stated that they had purchased the collection a long time ago and did not know that it was banned in Russia.
 
Another Islamic book, “Three Foundations,” was found during a search of Ruslan Ardukhanov’s home. He was also fined 1 thousand rubles. He noted that he was not aware that this publication had been recognized as extremist.
 
Finally, a book called “The Personality of a Muslim” was found in the apartment of a man named Adzhiev. He was fined 2 thousand rubles on charges of posting materials justifying terrorism.
