“Everyone who knew Buvaisar Khamidovich sincerely respected him not only as a talented athlete, but also as a bright, extraordinary, purposeful person. The bright memory of Buvaisar Saitiev will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, teammates,” the Kremlin website says.

Athletes Artur Beterbiev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Abdulrashid Sadulayev, Islam Makhachev and others also spoke in memory of the deceased. Earlier, a three-day mourning was declared in Chechnya. Buvaisar Saitiev's body was delivered to Khasavyurt, the funeral will take place on March 4.

The Cheka-OGPU reported that investigators are leaning toward the version of Saitiev's suicide. Investigative actions are being carried out in the residential complex at 2 Minskaya (Moscow's Ramenki district) regarding his death. It was established that the man fell out of the window of his apartment. According to relatives, there were no prerequisites for suicide. However, the sequence of actions (he opened the window himself) and the trajectory of the fall preliminarily indicate that Buvaisar Saitiev committed suicide. No traces of a struggle or any fingerprints characteristic of a person trying to escape were found in the room or on the window.
