Turkey continues to strengthen Azerbaijan's defense capabilities, viewing it as a fraternal state and a key ally in the region. This was stated by Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, who emphasized that cooperation is based on the principle of "one people, two states, one army."
On August 28, another one-man pickets were held in Makhachkala in support of the editor of the Chernovik newspaper, Abdulmumin Gadzhiev. It is reported by "Caucasus. Realities". Colleagues of the journalist demanded to stop his criminal prosecution. Recall that a case of financing terrorism was initiated against him. Human rights activists recognized Hajiyev as a political prisoner, while lawyers claim that the evidence was fabricated by the investigation.
With posters in support of Abdulmumin Hajiyev, Magomed Magomedov, deputy editor-in-chief of Chernovik, and journalist of Novoye Del, Idris Yusupov, went out into the street. The police on duty did not interfere with the rally.
Meanwhile, the investigation into Hajiyev's case is nearing completion. The prosecutor's office asked for him and two other defendants - programmer Kemal Tambiev and head of the Ansar charity fund Abubakar Rizvanov - 19 years in prison.
