The Russian Foreign Ministry assured that Russian peacekeepers remain in Karabakh

The Russian peacekeeping contingent remains in Karabakh and has no plans to leave the region. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Galuzin.

According to Galuzin, one of the main tasks of the peacekeepers is to ensure the safety of the residents of Karabakh who remained in the region after the end of the military conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. According to UN estimates, there may be about a thousand.

Let us recall that, according to the trilateral statement signed by Baku, Yerevan and Moscow on November 10, 2020, the Russian peacekeeping contingent was deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia. Peacekeepers are deployed until at least 2025.
