Moscow expressed dissatisfaction with the statements of the Armenian leadership

Moscow categorically does not accept the reproaches of the Armenian authorities for the CSTO’s failure to fulfill its mandate and obligations towards Yerevan. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“It is not our fault or the fault of other CSTO members that the organization’s balanced decision, which provided for the provision of military-technical assistance, was rejected by the Armenian authorities,” Zakharova said. Let us recall that recently Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that his country has frozen membership in the CSTO.

“Pashinyan’s words about calls from the Russian Federation for a coup in Armenia have no basis. Russian officials have never allowed even a hint of calls for the overthrow of legally elected authorities anywhere,” Zakharova also noted.

Earlier, Pashinyan said that several months ago Russia openly called on the Armenian population to overthrow the government. According to him, this propaganda from Moscow against him continues unabated.

Zakharova also commented on the possible visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Yerevan: “Armenia, as an ally, is well aware of our position towards the Kyiv regime.”
