In Moscow, an athlete was detained in the case of justifying terrorism because of a video with a speech by Shamil Basayev

Upon arrival from Abu Dhabi, MMA fighter Ilyas Yakubov was detained for “public justification of terrorism.” He was taken to a unit of the capital's Investigative Committee, the department reported.

According to investigators, the 31-year-old athlete published a video on which he superimposed statements from the Chechen field commander Shamil Basayev. He later deleted the video from the Internet, but it was recorded in time.

Ilyas Yakubov is a popular fighter of the “Our Business” and Hardcore Fighting promotions. The investigation will petition for his arrest.
