Ingush Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kotov reported to the People's Assembly deputies on the fight against economic and corruption crimes in the republic. In 2025, law enforcement officers uncovered more than 250 such cases, with total damages amounting to almost a billion rubles.
A significant increase in detection rates has been noted: economic crime detections increased by 28% and corruption crimes by 43%. These figures reflect only the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and do not include statistics from other agencies.
As a reminder, high-ranking officials and security officials in Ingushetia are frequently accused of corruption. Among them is the accusation against Magomed-Bashir Kalimatov, the brother of the republic's head and former head of the Russian Post office, and 28 others for embezzling 519 million rubles. Furthermore, Ruslan Tambiyev, the head of the Ingush government's affairs department, resigned after his illegal assets worth 80 million rubles were confiscated. Furthermore, Mustafa Tochiyev, Deputy Minister of Property and Land Relations, was arrested in connection with the embezzlement of 578 million rubles.
