Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan issued a statement declaring that Armenians held captive by Azerbaijan are a result of conflict, not peace. In his video address, he emphasized that peace increases the chances of releasing the captives, while conflict makes this virtually impossible.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called on Tbilisi to renew its pro-European policy, including the principles of democracy and the rule of law. He stated that Georgia's current course raises serious concerns.
Rutte emphasized that NATO considers it necessary to maintain dialogue with the Georgian side to discuss problems rather than completely severing relations due to disagreement.
"We call on Georgia to return to a pro-European, future-oriented path. We must maintain dialogue and discussion and take the position that it is better to continue relations to be able to discuss these issues, rather than saying that we don't like it and that we are completely terminating relations," he said.
The Secretary General also added that NATO is acting in "close coordination" with the EU.
