French police questioned Chechen activist about threats from Kadyrov
Chechen activist Abubakar Yangulbaev, the son of Zarema Musayeva, who was kidnapped and convicted in Grozny, filed a statement with the Paris police station. In it, he reported threats of violence against him and his family members from the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov and their entourage.

As Yangulbaev told the publication "Kavkaz.Realii", in the statement he wrote that he had been declared a blood feud by Chechen officials. They also called on supporters from the diaspora outside the Russian Federation to cut off the heads of his family members. In Russia, a similar statement to the Investigative Committee remained unanswered.

"I spent about six hours talking with representatives of the Paris police and prosecutor's office, and then I was interviewed again. French law enforcement agencies requested a full list of people who threatened my family. I indicated Kadyrov, Delimkhanov and the Prime Minister Magomed Daudov,” Yangulbaev said.

Recall that the Chechen authorities believe that Abubakar Yangulbaev and his brothers are involved in the creation of the opposition Telegram channel 1ADAT, which criticizes the actions of Kadyrov and his entourage. In January 2022, the brothers' mother, Zarema Musayeva, was kidnapped from Nizhny Novgorod. After being taken to Grozny, the woman was accused of using force against a police officer. She allegedly scratched his face. She was sentenced to five years in prison. In early March of this year, the Pyatigorsk Cassation Court reduced the woman's sentence from 5 years to 4 years and 9 months in prison. Recently, another criminal case was opened against the woman, who has serious illnesses. She is accused of disorganizing the activities of a penal colony in Argun, Chechnya. Under the article, she faces up to five years. She allegedly attacked a Federal Penitentiary Service officer who accompanied her on her daily trips to the hospital.

After Musayeva was kidnapped in early 2022, Kadyrov publicly stated that "this family will either end up in prison or underground." Adam Delimkhanov called for their heads to be cut off. High-ranking Chechen security officials also recorded video messages in which they repeated the threats of violence against the Yangulbayev family. In addition, the Chechen authorities organized a rally of thousands: the public sector workers they gathered burned, trampled, and tore up portraits of the Yangulbayev family members.
