A protest took place outside the Azerbaijani embassy, demonstrating against President Ilham Aliyev's "Russophobic policies" and the "lawlessness of the Azerbaijani special services" against Russian citizens.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense forces destroyed 267 Ukrainian drones overnight on August 27, including over the country's southern regions. Specifically, the Krasnodar Krai, Volgograd Oblast, and Rostov Oblast were targeted.
Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar reported the downing of more than 70 drones in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and eight districts: Chertkovsky, Sholokhovsky, Millerovsky, Tarasovsky, Kamensky, Krasnosulinsky, Bagaevsky, and Azovsky. Two private homes, outbuildings, and a car were damaged in the Tarasovsky District. According to the governor, there were no injuries. A forest fire in the Sholokhovsky Forestry District was caused by the fall of a drone. The fire was contained to an area of 3.3 hectares. Additionally, mown fields and dry grass caught fire in the Sholokhov, Chertkovsky, and Millerovsky districts. The fires have already been extinguished.
Authorities in the Volgograd Region and Krasnodar Krai have not commented on the overnight attack.
Meanwhile, Kyiv reports that the Russian Armed Forces used several missiles and 258 drones in the attack. Some of the drones were allegedly launched from Millerovo in the Rostov Region and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Krasnodar Krai.
