Smolensk colony to check illegal conditions of detention of prisoners from Dagestan

According to media reports, the rights of prisoners from Dagestan are being violated en masse in IK-2 in the Smolensk region. More than 60 people are in solitary confinement, many are cutting their veins due to unbearable conditions.

The Human Rights Commissioner in Dagestan Zapir Alkhasov responded to the publications with a request to check the situation. "In this regard, I sent an appeal to my colleague, the Human Rights Commissioner in the Smolensk region Gennady Senchenkov, with a request to conduct an investigation of the facts reported in the media. Its progress and results are under my control," Alkhasov reported.

The Chairman of the Public Monitoring Commission of Dagestan Shamil Khadulaev also promised to check the information about the oppression of natives of the republic.
