According to investigators, Magomedov, being a member of the detachment of field commander Shamil Basayev and Khattab, attacked employees of the Novolaksky District Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan in 1999.
“He fired a firearm at the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who were in the building of the sports hall of the cultural center of the village of Novolaksky, as a result of which two people were killed and 18 were injured,” reads a message on the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office for the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts.
