Turkey has denied information about plans to deport Chechen refugees and oppositionists to the Russian Federation
The Turkish presidential administration denied reports of arrests and placement in deportation camps of relatives of Chechen oppositionists living in the country, including the nephew of the first president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Dzhokhar Dudayev, 18-year-old Mansur Dudayev. The department called the publications untrue.
Earlier, the Turkish media spread information about “plans for the deportation of Chechen refugees” to the Russian Federation. Opposition MP Selcuk Ozdağ called on the Turkish parliament to investigate these publications, promising to visit deportation centers.
