Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has commented on Armenia’s plans to begin preparing an application to join the European Union, saying Yerevan would ultimately fail to secure EU membership but could seriously damage its relations with Russia and other members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
An incident involving Russian servicemen from North Ossetia occurred in the Zaporizhia region of Ukraine. According to the Telegram channel "ChP Ossetia", two soldiers attacked their fellow servicemen at a checkpoint near the village of Vasilyevka.
During the incident, Artur Fattakhov from Digora was killed, and Georgy Bekuzarov from Tsrau was injured. Both are servicemen of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District. It is reported that they attacked the checkpoint employees and tried to take their weapons when they wanted to check their transport and documents. After that, the attackers tried to escape, but the military police opened fire on the wheels, and then on the car.
Bekuzarov had previously left his unit. The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the situation.
