Another body was found in the disaster zone at the Shovi resort

The body of another person who died as a result of the natural disaster in Shovi was found in the bed of the Chanchakhi River in Racha. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reports this.

“At the moment it is known that a total of 32 bodies were found in the disaster zone, and the search for another person is actively underway. All relevant units of the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as heavy equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles, floating vehicles and a group of dog handlers are involved in the event,” the ministry said in a statement, SOVA reports.

Let us remind you that on August 3 a landslide occurred in Shovi. The rising river demolished the road bridge. On the first day, more than 200 people were evacuated from the scene of the tragedy. The natural disaster was the result of several factors, including difficult terrain and melting glaciers amid high air temperatures.
