Vadim Cheldiev was transferred from solitary confinement after three years

A North Ossetian political prisoner, activist and opera singer Vadim Celdiyev, wrote that his three-year solitary confinement had ended and he had been "among the people, not among the walls" for over a month.

"During the day, everyone has one lesson - mastering the sewing industry. There is a gym, so you can do your health," says Cheldiyev. He separately noted that the administration of the colony takes personal belongings until release under its responsibility, but for the preservation of his belongings there was not enough responsibility - they were stolen.

Recall that in July 2022, Cheldiyev was sentenced to 10 years, found guilty of organizing mass riots. He was detained in April 2020 after posting on social media against restrictions due to coronavirus. According to the investigators, the man urged the residents of Vladikavkaz to come to the people’s gathering and express their protest about the self-isolation regime. Participants of the April 20, 2020 rally demanded the abolition of the legal restrictions and the resignation of the authorities due to rising unemployment and lack of money.
