Today, Azerbaijan celebrates the 34th anniversary of its restoration of state independence. On August 30, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Republic adopted the Declaration on the Restoration of Independence, and on October 18 of the same year, the Constitutional Act enshrining this status was adopted.

A picket in support of Dagestani journalist Abdulmumin Gadzhiev received an unexpected reaction from passers-by and motorists. Gadzhiev's colleague and another protester, journalist Magomed Magomedov, told about this. According to the latter, during the action, at least 10 car drivers honked their horns in support. “People passed by, greeted each other, asked about the case of Abdulmumin. One even ran up and said that he was sorry that he could not stand up, but supported us.”
A friend of the accused journalist, who wished to remain anonymous, noted that Gadzhiev and Tambiev and Rizvanov, who were sitting with him in the dock, managed to substantiate their innocence and show people the absence of any evidence base under the charge. Magomedov also commented on Kemal Tambiev's speech in court, expressing the hope that the judge would understand him and accept his arguments.
