The Armenian authorities again criticized the CSTO

Armenia no longer has any expectations from the CSTO. Yerevan expected assistance from the organization during the Azerbaijani aggression in September 2023, but it did not arrive. This was announced by the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan.

Grigoryan also denied allegations that the CSTO offered military-technical assistance to Armenia.

Recently, the country’s Ministry of Defense commented on its possible participation in the CSTO exercises in 2024. “Each member decides on participation in CSTO exercises directly at the stage of announcing their holding,” the message says. Exercises are planned for 2024 with collective rapid reaction forces in Kyrgyzstan and with peacekeeping forces in Kazakhstan.

Let us recall that earlier Armenia refused to participate in the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, held in Moscow on December 19. On November 30, the country’s representative did not take part in the working meeting of the CSTO member countries in Skopje (North Macedonia). On November 23, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ignored the meeting in Minsk.
