The new acting head of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin, has decided to dismiss the entire republican government. Magomed Ramazanov, who served as deputy presidential plenipotentiary representative in the Far Eastern Federal District and has experience with the FSB, was previously appointed to the vacant position of chairman of the regional government by presidential decree.
Instead of the ex-head of Dagestan, a member of Kadyrov's entourage has been appointed representative of the Russian Federation in Islamic countries
The former head of Dagestan, Ramzan Abdulatipov, was dismissed from his post as Russia's permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He has held this position since 2019.
Turko Daudov was appointed Abdulatipov's successor. Previously, he served as a representative of the head of Chechnya in Muslim countries.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, headquartered in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), includes 57 countries. Russia has an observer status in it.
