A rally was held in France calling for the non-deportation of natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia to Russia
A rally was held in front of the European Parliament building in Strasbourg, France, calling for the non-deportation of Said-Sultan Khamzatov and Ruslan Meyriev to Russia.

According to the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Abroad, Roza Dunaeva, a native of Chechnya, Said-Sultan Khamzatov, took part in the second Russian-Chechen war and is being prosecuted in the Russian Federation on a fabricated criminal case.

As for the Ingush Ruslan Meyriev, he is being held in a prison in the city of Mechelen in Belgium and has been on a hunger strike since the end of January. In Russia, he is accused of participating in a terrorist organization in Syria and involvement in the preparation of terrorist attacks in the run-up to the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. He has repeatedly stated that he has not been to Syria. Meyriev’s defense claims that several of his photos with “militants,” which the investigation cites as evidence, depict another person.
