A Georgian citizen who fought for Ukraine was transferred to a colony in Mordovia
Mamuka Gatsarelia was transferred to the Mordovia colony. Earlier in the Russian Federation he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the fact that he, as a citizen of Georgia, fought for Ukraine.
Mamuka Gatsarelia was captured on May 20, 2022, when units of the Ukrainian army besieged at Azovstal in Mariupol stopped resistance and surrendered to Russian troops. Since then, the family has had no contact with Mamuka.
