Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Yerevan is interested in restoring full-fledged dialogue between Georgia and its Western partners—both the European Union and the United States. According to him, this position is the official line of the Armenian authorities.
For the first time, criminal cases have been opened against Crimean Tatar women for participating in an Islamic party
In Crimea, Esma Nimetulayeva, Nasiba Saidova, Elviza Aliyev, and Fevziye Osmanova were detained following searches in the Bakhchisaray and Sevastopol districts. They are charged with organizing and participating in terrorist activity due to their alleged affiliation with the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in Russia.
This is the first Hizb ut-Tahrir case in Crimea to be brought against women; previously, such charges were only brought against men. The party operates legally in many countries, including Ukraine.
Human rights activists link the criminal prosecution of Crimean Tatars to their civic stance and protests against repression.
