The second defendant in the terrorist attacks in Makhachkala and Derbent said the case was falsified
One of the defendants in the attacks on churches and synagogues in Makhachkala and Derbent, Khalid Magomedov, said that the security forces beat him out of his confession using threats and planted the weapons and ammunition. In addition, he was forced to write down an oath to the alleged leader of the criminal group, Osman Omarov.

A total of 11 people are involved in the case, including Zaur and Magomed Magomedov - all of them have the same last name as Khalid. They are charged with preparing a terrorist attack, illegal arms and explosives trafficking. The defense stated in court that the defendants did not even know each other before their arrest. Evidence was falsified in the case, and physical force was used against the defendants.

Zaur Magomedov previously declared his innocence and torture. This was reported by the deputy chairman of the public monitoring commission of Dagestan, Shamil Khadulaev.

“In his statement to us, Magomedov said that he had nothing to do with Osman Omarov’s group, but was acquainted with him, as he did finishing work for him. Magomedov also said that he was tortured with electricity, they did painful holds on his body, and they put a grenade on his tied hands, which was then thrown into his apartment. There was no lawyer nearby at the time,” Shadulaev wrote in Telegram.

Recall that on the evening of June 23, residents of Dagestan attacked Orthodox churches and synagogues in Derbent and Makhachkala. Eighteen police officers, five civilians, and five attackers were killed. One of the attackers was Osman Omarov, the son of the former head of the Sergokalinsky district of Dagestan, Magomed Omarov.
