Ali Karimli, leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, announced he was banned from participating in the Democracy Forum in Prague. He claimed the ban came from President Ilham Aliyev.

At least 27 people accused of participating in mass riots (Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code) were sent to the Makhachkala pre-trial detention center. We are talking about participants in the pogrom at Makhachkala International Airport.
The general director of the airport, Said Ramazanov, said that he knew about the unauthorized rally, but the surprise was the number of people.
“We were counting on a peaceful rally that day. I, at least, knew about this in the morning and notified all law enforcement agencies that a rally was planned,” Ramazanov said.
According to him, on October 29, the day of the riots, there were more than a hundred police officers at the airport, but they were not enough, since there were about 2 thousand demonstrators.
Previously, over 330 cases were sent to the courts of Dagestan under administrative articles regarding violation of the procedure for holding public events and hooliganism. The defendants were sentenced to punishments ranging from fines of 10 thousand rubles or more to arrest for a period of 10 days. Most of the detainees did not admit their guilt, claiming that they ended up at the site of the protests by accident. Others said they came to participate to express solidarity with the Palestinian people.
On October 29, local residents broke into the runway of Makhachkala airport after the arrival of a flight from Tel Aviv. They were reported to be looking for Israeli citizens who had flown in as part of a response to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
