The investigation into Zarema Musaeva's accusation of assaulting an FSIN employee has ended
In a new criminal case against the mother of Chechen activists Zarema Musaeva, the investigation is over. The woman is accused of disorganizing the activities of the colony (Part 2 of Article 321 of the Criminal Code). According to the investigation, she hit the employee of the FSIN, who accompanied her during trips to the hospital, and tore off his shoulder strap. Musaeva denies all accusations against him.

As Aleksandr Savyn, the lawyer of the Team Against Torture, noted, in the near future the defense expects to start reviewing the materials of the criminal case and the evidence available to the prosecution. Musaeva is now in SIZO-1 in Grozny. There, her knee pain worsened again.

In early March 2024, the Pyatigorsk Court of Cassation commuted the woman's sentence, reducing the term of imprisonment from 5 years to 4 years and 9 months. Last year, in Grozny, she was convicted on the charge of using violence against a representative of the authorities. As a reminder, on January 20, 2022, police officers from Chechnya arrived in Nizhny Novgorod and forcibly took Musaeva to her native region. After being taken to Grozny, the woman was accused of using force against a policeman. As if she scratched his face.
