During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
The Basmanny District Court of Moscow registered an appeal from the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, Rufat Ismailov, about his detention. The date for its consideration has not yet been set.
The deputy head of the Dagestan Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rufat Ismailov, was arrested in November 2023. He is charged with two criminal episodes under Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on a large scale). In addition, he is accused of exceeding official powers with the use of violence (clauses “a”, “d”, “e” part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Charges under the same articles were brought against the Deputy Head of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Dagestan Dalgat Abdulgapurov and investigator Abdul Abakarov.
