Zarema Musayeva expressed optimism after the announcement of the verdict

“Everything is good, and it will be even better. The main thing is that my conscience is clear,” Zarema Musayeva said after the verdict was announced. In Grozny, a court sentenced a woman to five and a half years in a penal colony in a case of violence against a police officer and fraud.

Novaya Gazeta journalist Yelena Milashina and lawyer Alexander Nemov were attending the meeting. On the way from the airport, they were severely beaten by masked gunmen.

Zarema Musaeva is the mother of the Chechen human rights activists Yangulbaevs. Last year she was kidnapped by the security forces, and later a fictitious criminal case was opened against her.
