Zarema Musayeva Remains in Custody
The Visaitovsky District Court of Grozny extended the arrest of Zarema Musayeva until February 24. She is accused of disrupting the activities of the colony (Part 2 of Article 321 of the Criminal Code). According to the defense, the investigation and the court referred to Musayeva's previous unexpunged conviction for intentional crimes.

In addition, according to the court, the woman may attack the colony employees. At the same time, the lawyer of the "Team Against Torture" Alexander Savin noted that Musayeva has been moving for a long time only with the help of crutches due to a serious illness.

According to the investigation, Zarema Musayeva hit an FSIN employee who accompanied her during trips to the hospital and tore off his shoulder strap. The defendant denies all charges against her.

Zarema Musayeva is the wife of former federal judge Saidi Yangulbaev and the mother of Chechen activists Ibragim, Baysangur, and Abubakar Yangulbaev. In early March 2024, the Pyatigorsk Court of Cassation reduced her sentence on the previous charge, reducing her prison term from 5 years to 4 years and 9 months. In July 2023, a court in Grozny found the woman guilty of using violence against a police officer and fraud and sentenced her to five years in prison. According to investigators, she scratched the face of a police officer from Chechnya during her transfer from Nizhny Novgorod to Grozny.
