Gesture of reconciliation: First Ladies of Azerbaijan and Armenia meet in China

A meeting of the First Ladies of Azerbaijan and Armenia took place within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in China. Mehriban Aliyeva, the wife of the President of Azerbaijan, and Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia, took a joint photo, demonstrating a symbolic gesture of reconciliation and cooperation between the two countries.

On the same day, Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughter Arzu Aliyeva, together with the First Lady of China Peng Liyuan and the spouses of other leaders participating in the “SCO Plus” format, took a boat ride on the Haihe River in the Chinese city of Tianjin.
