A resident of Dagestan complained about falsification of charges of participation in an illegal armed group
A court in Khasavyurt extended the arrest of a local resident Devlet Ismailov, accused of participating in a terrorist organization, until March. His defense stated that the arrest was unfounded and the criminal case was falsified.
 
Ismailov was detained in October 2024. According to the defense, the case file does not contain evidence of his involvement in terrorism. All prosecution witnesses are in prison, i.e. they may be subject to pressure from the investigation. In addition, Ismailov was charged with a criminal offense only a month and a half after his detention.
 
In October 2024, four local residents were detained in Derbent: Agakhan Alibegov, Devlet Ismailov, Alim Guzhaev and Kamil Selimov. They were suspected of organizing a terrorist community.
