Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has commented on Armenia’s plans to begin preparing an application to join the European Union, saying Yerevan would ultimately fail to secure EU membership but could seriously damage its relations with Russia and other members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
A resident of Adygea detained on suspicion of ties to Ukraine
A 24-year-old resident of the Takhtamukaysky district of Adygea was detained for "commitment to Ukrainian nationalist ideas" and participation in a banned terrorist organization. This was reported by the regional FSB department.
According to the security forces, the young man held conversations with a colleague at work and convinced him to participate in sabotage against law enforcement officers. The colleague reported this to the security forces. There is no information yet about evidence of illegal activity by the detained citizen. Under the article on participation in the activities of a terrorist organization, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
