A resident of Chechnya was sentenced to 6.5 years after being tortured into confessing to an NVF organization.

On more than 10 occasions, Chechen investigative authorities refused to open a criminal case against police officers involved in the abduction and torture of 21-year-old labourer Hasan He told to the «Committee against Torture» that he was taken from his home, beaten, tortured and kept in a garage. He was asked to confess that he had planned an attack on the security forces and organized the NWF.
Islamov was first taken to the Nauru Police Department. There, two police officers beat, kicked and beat him with a stick, demanding that he sign a confession. The young man was then transferred to the Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov police regiment, where he was beaten with a metal hose and subjected to electric shocks. Then, according to Hassan, he was handed over to the police at the Moscow Department of Internal Affairs in the Zavodsky district, where he spent two months in the garage.
In April 2022, the court found Hassan Islamov guilty of organizing an illegal armed formation and possessing weapons. He was sentenced to 6.5 years in the colony. At the trial, he denied his guilt and said that he confessed her under torture.
Recently Staropromyslovsky District Court of Grozny held a court session. The lawyers of the CPT appealed the 10th illegal decision not to open a criminal case. The material is sent back for further verification.
