A resident of Dagestan was sent to a psychiatric clinic for spreading fake news about the Russian army

A court in the Shamil district found Shamil Magdiev, a 41-year-old resident of the village of Tidib, guilty of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army and sent him for compulsory treatment. According to investigators, the man posted on his page on the social network a video with unreliable information about the Russian military.

The reason for initiating the case was the publication of a pacifist video message from Mufti of Crimea Aider Rustemov "to the imams and preachers of the fraternal peoples of the Caucasus, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan." In this video, the mufti calls on Russian Muslims not to participate in the war with Ukraine and to resist the authorities. The investigation found that the video material also contains unreliable information about the Russian army.

The Shamil District Court sent Shamil Magdiev for compulsory treatment in a psycho-neurological dispensary. This was reported by "OVD Info". It is noteworthy that at the time of the court ruling, Magdiev was already undergoing compulsory treatment in a psychiatric dispensary, where he was placed in another criminal case.
