Ingushetia Resident Remanded in Custody on Suspicion of Terrorist Financing

A court in Ingushetia has remanded a 27-year-old resident of the Sunzhensky District in custody on suspicion of financing terrorism. At the request of investigators, he has been detained until August 30, 2026.

A criminal case was initiated under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code, based on materials provided by the regional directorate of the FSB.

According to investigators, in March 2024, the man transferred funds to an individual who was collecting money for the needs of a terrorist organization banned in Russia. The transaction was allegedly intended to provide financial support to militants.

However, the statement issued by the Investigative Committee for Ingushetia did not specify which organization was involved, nor did it disclose the transfer amount or the suspect's occupation.

The agency announced that formal charges would be brought against the man in the near future. The offense carries a penalty of eight to 15 years in prison.
